Through their consumer claims team, Nissan finally agreed to cover 75% of the replacement cost of the transfer case. Even though the transfer case failed as a result of the failed transmission, Nissan refused to cover the replacement under warranty. On the second failure, the transfer case failed as well. The CVT's warranty was voluntarily extended by Nissan due to poor reliability. The first time at 60k miles and the second at 87k miles. 'CVT transmission failed twice under warranty. 'Transmission slipping, tech recommended replacement instead of repair.' 'going from a flat grade to an uphill grade the car would shake and not accelerate' They also replaced transaxle with a rebuilt one after promising to only use 'new parts.' They also scratched the console. Dealership had the car for a week to replace it with a new one. 'On the 2nd transmission, with 3 updates on the software. 'Vehicle was shaking during acceleration just after making a turn (such as a street corner) - whole transmission had to be replaced (covered by warranty)'

Required a full transmission replacement under warranty' 'At 4900 miles our 2012 Pathfinder needed a new transmission' 'Required a new transmission at 62,000 km due to wear on internal chains.' I contacted Nissan about the problem, but they never responded back to me.' If we had not had the extended warranty it would have cost over $5,000 to replace the transmission in a 3 year old vehicle. Unfortunately my vehicle was already over that mileage limit when it started, but we had purchased the extended warranty and it covered the replacement. They even extended the warranty to 85,000 (I believe) because of it. The transmission slipped and roughly jerked constantly. 'This is a problem Nissan knows happens with the CVT transmissions. Given the low mileage and average, safe driving, this seems like an unreasonable and extensive repair to have had to do twice in under 5 years.' 1st time was in 2015 with less than 6K miles. '2nd transmission rebuild in 3/2019 30K miles. It had to be replaced by another dealership near our current residence. 'The first issue was with the original dealership. This 3rd transmission feels better and has not been an issue so far.' Took it to dealer where they replaced the transmission a second time. In Sept 2018 the transmission would start shaking and shuddering under load. Afterwards the transmission did not feel quite right. Took it to dealer and they replaced the transmission under warranty. 'Had transmission shudder problem in June 2018. Replaced on a recall and has worked perfectly since.' 'Initial transmission slipped and skipped badly.

'The transmission was shifting inappropriately when driving the vehicle at highway speeds causing the vehicle to lurch forward/sideways dangerously.
